It's that time of year again when we get to say thank you to our Dad for being so great and Father's Day is now less than two weeks away, falling this year on June 21st. For many of us (definitely me!), it also means spending a couple of weeks agonising over what will make the perfect Father's Day gift - so yes you've guessed it, I've written a gift guide! Here are my 10 favourite Father's Day gifts, all of which have been road tested on some Dads so you can be sure they're good choices.
We were recently asked to create this completely bespoke print as a housewarming gift, for a couple that had moved in by the sea. A take on our usual bus blind, this one has a lovely coastal feel about it and was the perfect gift. It got me to thinking how thoughtful and special a present it made and I couldn't resist a little blog with some more housewarming gift ideas!
Let's face it, we can all go out and buy a bottle of bubbly or some chocolates and I would never sniff at either of those....... but, I must admit I like my gifts to show that I've put some thought into them and to the person and occasion they're for. So here are my favourite 8, just for you.
Ever spent what feels like an eternity browsing through racks upon racks of cards, never quite finding the right one? I don't want to scare anyone like me that hasn't yet organised anything for Valentine's Day, but it's um, only 11 days away! That's the bad news. The good news is that my gift guide is BACK! Read on for my top ideas of perfect gifts that will make sure you're in the good books.
You’d think that having a baby and a toddler, I’d find this one really easy to write. Wrong. The thing is, there’s little point in me writing a piece aimed at parents of children, I think most parents know their little ones well enough to know what they’re going to love. So this blog is aimed at your friends and family’s children, where things start to get a bit trickier.
In my recent blog about Christmas traditions, I shared with you the new wooden, reindeer advent calendar I've bought to fill with festive treats and gifts, I guess you could say it's our personalised Christmas calendar. Here he is, filled up and ready to go! Read on to find out what's gone inside....
Am I really that old? Was it THAT long ago since I was a teenager? If I was under any illusion at all, then researching and writing this gift guide has proven to me once and for all that those years are long gone! And when they are that long ago, how on earth do you decide what to buy for a mid to late teen (that is not your own) these days, particularly when anything you like is most likely detested by them? Well I’ve done the hard work for you, here are my top 5 gift suggestions.
So, gift ideas for him? Wow, I found it so much harder to come up with 5 ideas that would be universally appealing to men than I did for women. It seems to me that men’s tastes and interests change with age much more so than they do for women, do you agree? For example, in my experience women of all ages are interested in clothes and jewellery, but men (in general) less so – with younger guys having much more interest than those that are a little older (or maybe that’s just my Dad and Father–in-law!). Here they are, my top 5 gift ideas for HIM:
There’s no getting away from it now, Christmas will be upon us before we know it and I don’t know about you, but I have an ever present feeling of mild alarm going on and will do until my shopping is complete. I thought I’d share some of my gift ideas with you.
