Here at The Pretty in Print Company, we LOVE a winter wedding. Yes, the days are cold but there are some fantastic opportunities for a beautifully romantic day, think dreamy lantern lights and cosy log fires; a recipe for romance if ever we heard one! If you're planning your own winter wedding then our favourite ideas could help inspire your big day.
1. Midnight colour palette
This stunning colour palette of midnight blue with hints of silver, grey, cream and white not only suit the season perfectly, they also achieve effortless elegance. Totally in love with the bridesmaid gowns and flowers in particular! Image by Go! Bespoke.
2. Indulgent invitations
Our own Winter Lights wedding stationery would be the perfect match for a midnight colour palette and the garland lights used across the range have an amazing glow from the beautiful metallic, textured card we use. Choose from invitations and 'on the day' stationery. A perfect scene setter for your winter wedding, allowing you to make a statement from the outset! The midnight/navy can be changed to suit your chosen colour scheme.
3. Wrap up!
If you're worried about staying warm on the big day but don't want to compromise your outfit, there's no need to panic; something like this beautiful crocheted wrap could actually enhance your outfit. Keeping you warm without covering up too much. This particular one was hand crocheted by the bride's mum, there are tons of free crochet patterns online (make them for your bridesmaids too!) or you could check out somewhere like Trendy Knitting on Etsy who have ready made crochet shawls to buy. 4. Fabulous flowers
This stunning bouquet really says winter! Including: mini cymbidium orchids, silver brunia, juniper sprigs, pine boughs, anemones, pinecones, garden spray roses, seeded eucalyptus, Vendela roses, and dusty miller by Rountree Flowers.
5. Cake gorgeous cake
This cake was almost made for the flowers wasn't it? Simple sophistication and all in the decoration with this beautiful two tier cake by Erica OBrien Cake Design. The use of pine cones and berries can work so hard for your winter wedding.
6. Keeping your guests warm on the inside....
This is a great idea for wedding favours, a tot of something to warm you up packaged with personalised labels! If you'd like to do something similar, we'd love to help you achieve it!
7. And on the outside....
A change from the basket of flip flops, a basket of blankets! Cute idea your guests will love! Image found here.
8. A different centrepiece
As an alternative to a floral centrepiece, candles add to the mood while it gets darker outside. Use them everywhere!
9. A different kind of lantern
These snowflake lanterns have a shimmery finish and come with a buttonlite that allow the design to be cast across nearby walls and surfaces; a few of these would certainly add something unusual to your venue decoration! Available at The Hanging Lantern Company.
10. And finally!
This might be the last on the list but it's an extra special one to finish, since it does two jobs in one! These winter charm bracelets made with Swarovski pearls would not only make a perfect accessory for your bridesmaids (they're available in lots of colours), they could double as their bridesmaid gift! Love the snowflake charm and a fantastic price at just £20 each from J & S Jewellery.

See you there!
I always think buying gifts for Mother's Day is harder than for a birthday; there's a little more sentiment behind it. The months and years seem to roll around so quickly these days and each year seems to get a bit harder!
I've actually started a kind of present diary now, I make a note of what I get people (mainly family) so that I can refer back to it; I can also make notes of gift ideas I think of throughout the year. It helps avoid repeating presents too!
With Mothers Day just around the corner, I've put together a list of my favourite gifts for Grandma (or Nanny, Nana, Granny, whichever name you use!).
From doughnut walls to abstract masterpieces, wedding cake trends continue to evolve, but what will be big in 2018?
I've got the low-down together with some gorgeous examples to get those creative juices flowing!
I don't know about you, but I always feel like a Valentine's gift has to hit the right tone. Somewhere there has to be some kind of meaning or romance to make it worthy of being presented on the day of love!
Well, I've spent hours exploring ideas to fit the bill (and the budget) and assembled my ten favourites here.
