We were recently asked to create this completely bespoke print as a housewarming gift, for a couple that had moved in by the sea. A take on our usual bus blind, this one has a lovely coastal feel about it and was the perfect gift.
It got me to thinking how thoughtful and special a present it made and I couldn't resist a little blog with some more housewarming gift ideas!
Let's face it, we can all go out and buy a bottle of bubbly or some chocolates and I would never sniff at either of those....... but, I must admit I like my gifts to show that I've put some thought into them and to the person and occasion they're for. So here are my favourite 8, click on any of the images to buy! I'm unashamedly starting with our popular bus blind, but there are plenty of other corkers too!
1. Personalised Home Bus Blind
Now we can't have all of our own designs up at home, but this is one we do have. It's one of our most popular prints for any occasion, but particularly as a housewarming gift. I love it's stylish simplicity, the design is based on the iconic typography first used on UK public transport prior to World War 1 - so hits the mark for lovers of all things vintage too! An unframed print is just £18 (framing is also available). *Cough, cough* our bus blind is also available as a new baby gift and wedding gift.
2. Twin Stag Doormat
Every new home needs a new doormat, right? The ever popular stag looks great on this one, just £15 from M & S with free delivery to store.
3. Personalised Rubber Address Stamp
Such a unique new home gift idea! I love, love it! At £18 from the English Stamp Company, this would make all cards and gifts sent from this new address a thing of beauty for evermore.
4. 'New Home' Handmade Paper Bunting
Moving home is often a time for real celebration and what else says celebration better than bunting? This lovely 'New Home' set features pretty pastel backgrounds with white polka dots and is threaded with white satin ribbon. The handmade garland is just £9.95 from our good friends at The Bunting Club.
5. Personalised Bone China Teapot
Um, I don't even like tea and I want one of these! At £24.99 and with 5 star reviews from Getting Personal, this personalised teapot makes a great new home gift. Featuring both the name and town of the recipient.
6. Warm Welcome Rose
Aptly named, this Warm Welcome patio rose comes potted and with a gift tag for your message. A long lasting, thoughtful housewarming gift to light up the garden all summer! A very well priced gift option at £14.99 with a named day delivery service from Giftaplant.
7. Personalised House Slate Keepsake
Another from Getting Personal, this handcrafted Happy Home slate makes a gorgeous keepsake at just £9.95. Perfect perhaps for a first home gift in particular. Finished with a thick rope handle, it has a lovely rustic feel.
10. The New Home Hamper
Lastly, bubbly and chocolates do in fact have an extra special edge when they are Brut Réserve and Marc De Champagne truffles as part of a hamper from Fortnum & Mason! If you want to blow the budget, then at £100 this is a truly wonderful housewarming gift. Complete too with a box of Assam Tea, Amber Rose Votive Candle, Chocolate and Macadamia biscuits and a signature F & M tea towel. In fact, the 15" wicker basket itself is one to keep too.
Well the next time someone you know is moving home, why not wow them with a thoughtful housewarming gift? All you need to do is pick your favourite!

I always think buying gifts for Mother's Day is harder than for a birthday; there's a little more sentiment behind it. The months and years seem to roll around so quickly these days and each year seems to get a bit harder!
I've actually started a kind of present diary now, I make a note of what I get people (mainly family) so that I can refer back to it; I can also make notes of gift ideas I think of throughout the year. It helps avoid repeating presents too!
With Mothers Day just around the corner, I've put together a list of my favourite gifts for Grandma (or Nanny, Nana, Granny, whichever name you use!).

From doughnut walls to abstract masterpieces, wedding cake trends continue to evolve, but what will be big in 2018?
I've got the low-down together with some gorgeous examples to get those creative juices flowing!

I don't know about you, but I always feel like a Valentine's gift has to hit the right tone. Somewhere there has to be some kind of meaning or romance to make it worthy of being presented on the day of love!
Well, I've spent hours exploring ideas to fit the bill (and the budget) and assembled my ten favourites here.
