Charlie and Kristina's At the Races Themed Wedding

April 22, 2016

We just love seeing pictures of our couples' weddings and this week we received some new images from Charlie and Kristina who were married in February at a local church in Walkington, East Yorkshire where they first met as teenagers. The ceremony was followed by a reception at the Lazaat Hotel in Cottingham, Hull. Pictures taken by the bride's Uncle, Vince Clegg.

Kristina and Charlie booked and arranged their dream wedding in just 8 months and had lots of help from family and friends to make it a reality. For their table stationery, the couple chose our At the Races themed stationery as something a little bit different and it's lovely to hear from Kristina that all the guests and venue loved the idea.

The top table had to be the Grand National and of course each guest had their own place card featuring a silk and personalised race day 'form'; Charlie came up with most of the comments as he was keen to make it truly personal to each person.

Their table plan is now a permanent feature at home as a lasting reminder of their special day.

8 Mothers Day Gift Ideas for Grandma
8 Mothers Day Gift Ideas for Grandma

February 16, 2018

I always think buying gifts for Mother's Day is harder than for a birthday; there's a little more sentiment behind it. The months and years seem to roll around so quickly these days and each year seems to get a bit harder!

I've actually started a kind of present diary now, I make a note of what I get people (mainly family) so that I can refer back to it; I can also make notes of gift ideas I think of throughout the year. It helps avoid repeating presents too!

With Mothers Day just around the corner, I've put together a list of my favourite gifts for Grandma (or Nanny, Nana, Granny, whichever name you use!).

I don't know about you, but I always feel like a Valentine's gift has to hit the right tone. Somewhere there has to be some kind of meaning or romance to make it worthy of being presented on the day of love!

Well, I've spent hours exploring ideas to fit the bill (and the budget) and assembled my ten favourites here.
